Flatiron Systems Reading Group

Flatiron systems is a laid-back place to learn and talk about tech. We have weekly meetings in NYC to discuss interesting topics, books, and more.

We don't expect anyone to read in advance, buy any books, or have attended previous sessions. We'll provide copies of each week's material so all you need to do is drop in!

Designing Data-Intensive Applications

Kleppmann & Riccomini · 2nd Edition · O’Reilly

We’ll start the group by reading DDIA, a highly recommended book for learning about distributed systems at a high level.

The second edition of the book came out in February, making it the perfect time to either start reading for the first time or just as a refresher.

Each chapter is (relatively) self-contained, so feel free to stop by even if this is your first meeting.
